In time for SuperBowl parties: Our *EXCLUSIVE* TV-commercial E-Z scoring system
This simple system is designed to determine which commercials actually worked for the advertiser who invested huge sums in creating and placing the advertising. We wanted an alternative to the more common--and we would argue, far less meaningful--measures of how well-liked the advertising was. While advertising often uses entertainment as a ploy to engage attention, unless that attention is converted into some favorable disposition toward the brand, the effort's a waste.
So if you want to inject a dose of real-world advertising analysis into your SuperBowl party--and who wouldn't?--try our E-Z (and alcohol-effect-resistant) "Yes or No" scorecard.
We will be keeping score ourselves and will supply our ratings and analysis as quickly as possible after the game, separating the advertising winners from the spendthrift losers.
Here are the simple rules and a sample scorecard.
(Note: Just prior to game day, we will update the scorecards with the best information available as to which spots are airing when.)
